11 Things You Need To Avoid Buying In Bulk

Last Updated on November 16, 2018

I honestly didn’t know a better way to purchase the coffee beans except in big quantities. As it turned out, it is best to buy only a small quantity at once in order to enjoy it as it is supposed to.

Apparently, the beans that get roasted more than twice will start producing a not-that-tasty coffee. The only case you can buy it in bulk is if you are a java junkie, then we are not going to worry about you.

Sometimes, people learn after one mistake. I, on the other hand, need to go through it a few times more, maybe to make sure that it was truly a mistake. However, buying bakery items can be very tricky because I never realized that as soon as they go out from the oven, they start spoiling. The only solution is to freeze it, but it would never taste the same as when you first bought it fresh.

Sunscreen is one of the products that need to be fresh while used, so if you bought it in bulk or you just have an extra new one, make sure to hide it in a dry, cool place, that’s how it could last for years. But if you take it to the beach and leave it in the car during a warm day, then it can easily go bad. The solution is to buy small quantities to make sure you are well-protected!

Obviously, we are not going to buy a handful of spices every day, but the fact that ground spices lose their potency and flavor way too quickly would also be just a waste of money. So, you can buy a big quantity of spices but only in one condition: stock it very well in your kitchen and make sure that air doesn’t reach it.

Milk is the same case as the eggs. If you compared the sale prices, you will be shocked how cheaper it could be at the grocery stores. Plus, make sure to store them very well away from any air, heat, or even light because milk can easily go bad. Well, I am proud to say that milk was one of the mistakes that I repeated a couple of times before I realized the truth, good times!

Oil can go a long way before getting bad, except if you are deep-frying. So, the only harm when it comes to stocking it is the fact that a bad “storage” can do way too much harm than you think. If you bought a large quantity, then make sure to keep it in a dark, cool place inside an air-tight container. There is nothing unhealthy more than bad cooking oil!

Yes, the brown rice can go bad too because it contains oil, a large amount of it, which means it can easily spoil it. So if you must purchase a large quantity of rice, then it is best to stick to the white rice.

After all, it is a lot healthier, and side note, before cooking the rice, make sure to leave it in water overnight to prevent consuming high concentration of arsenic, which is a bad ingredient in the rice and it may cause many health issues.
