Between 2010 and 2014, the US municipal fire departments responded to calls upon fire including 16,000 fires for a flammable material put in dryers and washing machines. This is a figure which is confirmed by the National Fire Protection Association.

You can buy the best laundry detergent for odors and stains, but never even think to use it to wash flammable stains. The presented figure by the said body involved dryers as the main contributing cause of 92% of the fires.

Everybody knows that you cannot put any flammable material in the dryer. However, you may be absent-minded and toss in a blouse or a pair of paints stained with gas. The outcomes will be terrible. You can use a quick stain remover without washing.

Even if you wash them, the oil residues cannot be fully removed according to Tim Adkisson, who is the director of Product Engineering at Sears Home Services.

Do you know that putting your carbon 38 start leggings, Trina Turk athletic wear or any of your activewear can spoil your clothes? In the manufacturing of your activewear, the manufacturer added the features of sweat-wicking and coated protection from sun’s rays, that is why they should not be put in the dryer.

If you put them in the dryer, the functional components that these fabrics are made for will be damaged because of high heat. Brit Turner, who is the co-founder of Fit Atelier, confirms that the heat will damage the elastic properties that your outfit contains.

Consequently, the fabric will be weakened with tears, holes, runs and picks all over it. Once you wash your activewear, hang or lay it, to dry after being washed in cold waters.

According to Dr.Elizabeth Trattner A.P DOM, who is a doctor of Chinese and Integrative Medicine, these sheets have dangerous demonstrable effects on your respiratory system, skin as well as the environment.

They are very toxic items that should be preferably avoided for the grave health hazards they represent. Instead of using them, you can use scented wool balls with essential oils. There are multiple ways in which you can use these dryer sheets, but not in the laundry room.
