We all know these animals even though they’re cuties they can be pretty messy too. Their hair is something that’s constantly around the house and it’s really difficult to get rid of. The bed where they sleep is the nest of their hair. So before putting your pet’s bed in the washing machine, try to vacuum first as much as you can.

#10 – Canvas Shoes and Sneakers

If you’re worried about smells, one small cup of baking soda will do it. If you really want to deep clean your shoes, remove laces first and wash them separately (if they’re white, you can use bleach). Then just put your shoes inside a mesh bag and wash with warm water and detergent!

#11 – Backpacks and Gym Bags

Unless your bag is made of leather, go ahead and throw it in the washing machine. Just don’t forget to empty all the pockets. If you desire, you can wash them from the inside out or not. If your bag has any stains, work on that with special products first and once that’s taken care of, you can put them in the washer.

#12 – Yoga Mats

Yoga mats can be pretty disgusting since they accumulate loads of body fluids. When going to the gym I’m always a little bit grossed out by it. I know that’s why they tell us to bring our own towels but still… Kinda gross. However, these items can be washed in the machine. Obviously, gyms don’t do it, and if they do, they definitely don’t do it daily.

#13 – Car Mats

Car mats are constantly dirty, after all, we carry a lot of dirt on our shoes that are in contact with mats. Normally we put some spray on it and shake them a bit, but this is only eliminating a small percentage of the actual dirt they possess. You should wash them with warm water with the delicate cycle for a deeper clean.

#14 – Sports Gear

We all know how dirty these can get. It really depends on the sport but you can definitely expect daily sweat and dirt on these items. Some people are unaware you can actually put some sports items such as knee pads, shin guards and compression sleeves.

All you have to do is close the straps or velcro and put these pieces in those mesh bags meant for washing machines. Always opt for the normal detergent gentle cycle. Do not put them on the dryer, instead, let them dry naturally.

So don’t be afraid to put these items on the washing machine. If you know how to use a washing machine and how to do laundry washing these items shouldn’t be a concern.

If you’re not that experienced with washing machines just make sure you follow the instructions and you should be fine!
