13. There are 9 things that everyone should keep as secrets: disgrace, honor, gifts, love affairs, health issues, religion, family problems, wealth, and age.

14. If you’re in a concert hall, theatre, or cinema, you should move from and to your seat while facing those sitting.

15. A man must never ever touch a woman without asking for permission, meaning it’s against etiquette rules to take her arm, push her, touch her during a conversation, hold her hand, etc.

16. If a person calls to you in a rude manner, for example, ‘Hey, you!’ or ‘You there!’, you should ignore them and be a model of polite social manners.

17. Always use perfume in moderation. If the aroma is still strong when you get home in the evening, then chances are your coworkers are tired of it.

18. A well-mannered man will always be respectful toward women.

19. Men should ask for permission to smoke in the presence of a woman.

20. When you enter a room, you should greet everyone there no matter who you are, a student, a CEO, an elderly person, a scientist, etc.

21. We need to respect each other’s privacy of correspondence. Parents should never open their kids’ letters and couples should never check pockets or phone messages in search of trouble. This is an extremely rude behavior, especially when it comes from the closest people.

22. Never try to keep up with fashion. Fashionable clothes aren’t necessarily beautiful or elegant. So stick to nice and chic rather than brand new.

23. If you’ve done something bad for someone and then you apologized for your mistake and are finally forgiven, you should never bring back the offensive subject again. Instead of saying sorry over and over again, you should make sure that you’ll never repeat the same mistakes in the future.

24. Never stare at other people and avoid talking and laughing out loud.

25. Always be grateful and say ‘thank you’ to your friends, family members, and loved ones. Keep in mind that these people love and help you simply because they care about you and not that they have to. It’s a true blessing everyone should deeply appreciate.

All of these simple rules aim to make our collective lives better. Each one of us should watch their manners and maintain respect for others. After all, etiquette matters.
