Your laundry machine becomes your life partner through thick and thin! It saves you the time you would waste on washing clothes by hand, it gives you the chance to do other tasks as it does its job, it spares you from the physical effort and pain of wringing clothes out, especially heavy garments, etc.

Do you see how much your dryer and washer do for you? What are you doing for them then, to show your appreciation?!

Chances are, like many of us, you’re unknowingly shortening the life of your washer or dryer because of some of your bad laundry habits such as overloading your washer or not cleaning out your dyer. You really should stop!

ON THIS LIST, YOU’LL FIND THE ADVICE THAT YOU PROBABLY DIDN’T EXPECT TO GET ON YOUR BUSY DAY BUT THERE IT IS ON THE “NEXT” PAGE.

#1 – You overfeed your washer!

Yes, this definitely belongs to the first place because it’s one of the main reasons washers end up in the landfill.

If you have the habit of stuffing your washing machine with loads of laundry that are way heavier than its load capacity then you should seriously stop before it’s too late.

You must always pay attention to the laundry capacity that your washer displays. If it says “7kgs” then 7kgs, it is! Don’t overload it or else there won’t be any space left for the clothes to move or get cleaned, which puts too much stress on the motor and you can already guess what happens next.

#2 – You’re too generous with detergent

Laundry machines often recommend a specific amount and type of detergent (High-Efficiency detergent) that you should use, and if you don’t respect that you can kiss your washer goodbye from now!

Too much laundry detergent does not only discolor your clothes and leave spots but it also leads to overflowing suds that wear down the washer’s motor and pump.

If your washing machine displays “SUDS” every time you use it, it means that you’re using more detergent than neccessary which causes it to extend the rinse time.

Avoid using detergent improperly if you want to keep your washer working for as long as it could!

#3 – You don’t clean out the lint in the dryer

This is a bad, bad mistake!
