Eggs contain sulfur, which is considered an active ingredient in the store-bought oxidations solutions. Hence, if you have jewelry that needs some oxidation, you know where to go!

Grab an egg or two and then boil them! Keep in mind that you will only need the yolks. Break it up and place it at the bottom of a container that can be sealed easily.

Next, you should set paper towels over your jewelry or even better a wire rack if you have it so that you can use it to hold the jewelry without having to come in contact with the yolk. Leave the jewelry in the container for one day or even more days, it depends on how dark you want them to be. Finally, wash the silver using a bit of soap.

However, if you don’t want your jewelry to be oxidized, grab a buffing cloth and polish the areas you want sparkly and shiny again!
