During every winter season, our homes would go through many harsh circumstances that could break or destroy our furniture and backyards. Winter can be extremely cruel sometimes. This is why after each time, most of us would be already prepared with tools and money to repair everything again.
But luckily, there are many tricks that can help us repair a few things easily and cheaply. It is hard to believe, huh? But would you believe that coffee can restore your furniture and ice can remove traces from your carpet?
Of course, you wouldn’t trust that, this is why we made a list explaining everything to help you repair your sweet home without the need to go through a tiring and expensive process that may, or may not, fix everything effectively!
A microphone can help you to drill a hole safely
The thing about drilling holes next to switches or sockets is the high risk of damaging a wire, and God knows you don’t want any more damages. So the good news is you can drill without actually ruining them; all that you need is a microphone.
Simply, connect a tape recorder with the microphone and start the device with maximum volume. Put the microphone next to the place you want to drill, and if it has wires, then it will make a low hum from the tape recorder’s dynamics. The safest place to drill is where they will be no humming!
Lids for moving furniture
There come times when we need to move heavy, big furniture but we are just too scared to ruin the carpet.
To avoid that, try putting jar lids under the furniture’s legs that you want to move and you will notice that the moving process will be easier for you and safer for your carpet. However, make sure the jar lids are big enough for the legs of the furniture.
Ice for carpet’s dents
In case you didn’t use the jar lids as we suggested, or you already have dents in your carpet, then don’t worry because it is not done yet and everything is fixable.
Go to your freezer and take a few ice cubes, put them on the traces of the carpet, let them melt, and then vacuum it.
Take an old toothbrush that you don’t use anymore and lift the fibers with it. This trick is supposed to work like magic, but in case it didn’t, then it is best to purchase a new carpet. Don’t forget to use the jar lids, then!
Coffee for restoring furniture
Having kids or pets mean having endless scratches and scuffs on your wooden furniture, and it is a little bit annoying. But if your furniture is formed with dark wooden, then we have good news for you.
Using coffee to remove the scratches and scuffs can totally work on the black wooden furniture. Simply, take one spoon of instant coffee powder and mix it with a few drops of water till you get the consistency of a paste. Use an old toothbrush in order to apply it perfectly without creating a mess around.
