Reusability has become a common concept among the people of the human race, especially that our planet seems to be running out of resources.

For that reason, we need to do whatever we can to make good use of the things we have—as much as possible, in fact—before we throw anything away for good. Enter the concept and practice of recycling!

Recycling centers are everywhere; so is the recycling symbol. Moreover, there is a growing number of governments which are urging people to head for the recycling bins and contribute to the different efforts of electronic recycling, cardboard recycling, plastic recycling, etc. There are all, really, great efforts!

However, in this article, we are going to talk about another kind of recycling, one that doesn’t follow in the same footsteps of traditional recycling—which involves destroying something completely and repurposing it—but which relies on your willingness to make a conscious decision not throw away some recyclable items in your house.

Binder Clips

Those paper binder clips you have scattered around your house should not be thrown away! As insignificant as these small binder clips might seem to you, they are not—they can enter the recycling process through many doors.

For example, you can make out of them a binder clip phone stand, which is pretty cool if you ask us! Moreover, you can recycle them to be used as a hacked wallet by putting your credit card and some money inside the paper clip.

Aluminum Foil

That aluminum foil roll is… well, it’s so tempting to unroll! However, you should never be tempted to fully unroll it as fast as you possibly can, as tempting as that may seem to you.

Aluminum foil can be recycled in the sense that it can be washed after use and used once again. Recycling aluminum foil also involves the following things: using it as a pot scrubber (removes grime from pans and pots) or as a scissor sharpener (makes them sharp when you cut an aluminum foil with them).

Electronics

Electronics have become ubiquitously present in the world; and with that growing number, so has our desire to own the best and newest of these devices grown with it! However, we have reached a time in which we need to seriously recycle electronics, and that starts with the electronics that you own inside your house.

As a rule of thumb, don’t just throw away cell phones like that. It is estimated that phone recycling efforts save a lot of materials. Moreover, recycling 1 million computers saves the amount of electricity that can power more than 3,500 American households!

Corks

Corks are awesome for DIY projects; therefore, you should use them for that purpose whenever you can. This, of course, involves recycling them in some very ingenious ways.

Think of it this way: as you wouldn’t throw a cork bottle opener, you shouldn’t throw the corks that are removed using that tool. For example, you can use as many as 100 corks to build a corkboard, which you can make using glue. The board will yield some very interesting patterns!

Squeeze Bottles

Squeeze Bottles are a godsend and they should be treated that way—that involves not throwing them away whenever the opportunity presents itself, that is to say, whenever those ketchup squeeze bottles become empty.

If you go into any restaurant, you will find that plastic squeeze bottles that are used for a multitude of things.

For example, they fill them with oils and sauces so as to be able to control the amount of what they add to the food they prepare. So make sure that you don’t throw away those small squeeze bottles.
