#1 – Smelly dishwasher

Many people think it is unnecessary to clean up the interior of a dishwasher. Those people are wrong and they will realize that as soon as food residues build-up and their dishwasher start to stink. You can clean up your dishwasher regularly in two simple steps:

Sprinkle one cup of baking soda all over the bottom of your dishwasher (remove all the dishes and accessories) and wait a few hours – it’s probably a good idea to let it sit overnight;
The morning after, use vinegar instead of cleaning detergent and set the dishwasher to the hottest cycle available. That’s it. Your dishwasher is now as good as new and smelling much better.

#2 – Windows

Cleaning the windows is definitely the most demanding and annoying part of the house cleaning process. In the past, people used to clean windows with newspaper.

But nowadays, using this technique is a terrible idea because newspapers aren’t as thick as they used to be, so they will quickly deteriorate and can even leave ink spots on your hands and close to the window frame.

Two microfiber cloths and water are everything you need. Use a wet cloth first to get rid of most dirt and a dry one to guarantee the streak-free shine you are looking for.

#3 – Microwaves

The microwave is the most easily soiled appliance and can be pretty disgusting to clean up. But that’s only if you do it the wrong way and try to scrub it with a kitchen towel or microfiber cloth.

Cleaning the microwave with steam is a trick that you should already know by now. Mix a cup of water with two tablespoons of baking soda(you can also use lemon juice) in a bowl and put it in the microwave for about four minutes on high.

Wait about two minutes before opening the microwaves and then remove the bowl to clean the interior. You would be amazed by how easy it will be to scrub the dirtiness.

You can also use this technique to clean your oven. However, you should first try to steam clean this appliance using water only.

Fill a bowl with water and put it inside the oven for 40 minutes at 450 degrees. That should be enough to loosen the grease and grime built up over time. If not, try that again but this time add baking soda or lemon juice to the water bowl.
