#3 – Get light-colored furniture
Yes, we tend to avoid light furniture colors and choose dark ones like black or brown because they hide dirt, but it turns out that dark colors hide more than just dirt and that’s the brightness of your house!
So, if you’re getting a new house and are still deciding on what furniture you should get, invest in beige, yellow, light blue, silver, or soft gold-colored slipcovers, couches, cushions, tables, desks and chairs, etc.
They will brighten and cozy up your space!
#4 – Decorate with the right accessories
Sweep away the dullness from your home and life by decorating your house with aesthetically pleasing accessories like vivid-colored paintings and vases, or light-toned pattern drapes and rugs.
Also, add more life to lifeless rooms in your house by displaying colorful flowers such as sunflowers, roses, tulip, or lily of the valley.
Try hanging bright dream catchers or placing scented candles and small sculptures on shelves, or putting more modern accessories in your bathroom, library, living room, etc., to add a special and more inviting touch to your house.
#5 – Remove window screens
When it’s winter, you don’t need screens on your window to block barely-existing lights!
You’ll notice just how much light your house has been deprived of year-round once you watch it pour into your space and brighten it.
If you feel like something is missing after removing window screens, try hanging thin soft colored curtains that allow daylight to stream into the house and brighten it if you don’t want to keep the lights on all the time!
Sometimes we miss the most obvious things that help us solve a problem so if you didn’t think of any of the above options, from swapping light bulbs to removing the window screens before now, it’s totally understandable. What’s more important is to make a move now and make yourself feel truly “at home” in your own home!
