If you have a car, then you must have a place where you can leave it overnight. Check the parking space and see if there is a place that’s reserved for the owner of the apartment.

If not, go for a quick walk around the neighborhood to see if there is any place where you can live your car overnight. Focus on finding shopping centers with big parking lots, visible roads from your window, or paid parking lots.

No, having a beautiful view is not really what matters here, your sleep does. So check if there are luminous signs of places in front of your window. In case you didn’t care about this, there will be neon rays penetrating the bedroom every night keeping you from sleep. Also, nightclubs, bars, and major roads can also lead to sleep deprivation.

You have to make sure that the houses’ doors can be easily locked. Seriously, you don’t want to live in a constant worry about yourself and your property.

Also, the windows are important because basically, they are the main source of the oxygen you breathe, so make sure they open easily, or you will be struggling with suffocated rooms daily, especially in summer.

Check if it is for sale

The owners sometimes don’t tell you if the apartment they are renting you is for sale. As soon as they find buyers, they get rid of the renters. Obviously, you will indicate a penalty in the contract for early termination, which the owner will pay for.

However, having to leave the house as soon as possible is not something good to experience, so protect yourself and rent an apartment that is not for sale.

The contract must include everything that could go wrong in order to protect yourself and your wallet, so make sure to indicate the name of the person who is going to fix the things that got broken through no fault of your own. Otherwise, you can fix everything as long as the owner deducts it from the rent.

Even if the apartment is matching all the criteria, you have to care if it is clean, or you will get many unpleasant surprises hidden behind the mess. You can ask the owner to clean it up, if they didn’t agree, then don’t rush into signing the contract.

After all, it is up to you to decide if you can bring into a normal state or you could just leave and find something better and cleaner.
