It is very important to pay attention to the number of outlets in the house. They have to be in every room, or you will be stuck with hundreds of extension cords all over the apartment.

Also, you have to check if the outlets can handle the voltage you need by turning on a microwave and a kettle at the same time. If they both work normally, then the power points can stand the load.

There are not many people who can stay in a house without the TV or the internet, so looking if they are connected must be one of the first things to do while checking the houses. In case they are not, have a conversation with the owner about the possibility of you solving this issue by yourself, and if he/she can deduct the costs from the rent.

Obviously, no one wants mold in their new apartments. It looks bad, it smells horrible, and there is no way to get rid of it. Plus, breathing its spores is very dangerous to your health, especially for children and elderly people.

So make sure to examine the whole apartment for any presence of the fungal spots. They mostly form in places with high humidity like the kitchen, bathroom, and on windowsills.

More often, the landlords don’t add the utility bills to your rent, which will lead you to pay extra money on the receipts. To avoid this issue, look for an apartment that already has meters installed so you can control your own expenses.
