We all heard about the new trend of eating clean and treating our bodies like temples, but what about the environment we are living in?

Whether you are a neat freak or not, you need to accept the fact that there are hundreds of toxins in your home, especially if you spend a lot of time indoors or if you have kids and pets that are always running around.

It would be wonderful to give all-natural attention and love to space where you hang out the most, but if you think that scrubbing with baking soda all day long is a little too much, then we have got your back.

There are a few all-natural things you can do to detoxify your home, reduce the toxins, and create a safe and healthy space for everyone.

#1 – Invest in some greens

If you haven’t already got a few lush plants in your home, then it is a necessity to get a few of them. Not only will they add a beautiful touch to your home décor, but it will also help to detoxify the air you are breathing.

Those green, gorgeous leaves are natural air detoxifiers, in fact, there are a few indoor plants that are good for your health. For example, eucalyptus is known for its ability to promote healthy skin, ease respiratory conditions, and reduce the risk of bacterial infections.

#2 – Take off your shoes

Your shoes step on hundreds of disgusting things throughout the day, things we don’t even want to think about. So unless you have been walking on a clean, royal carpet all day long, your shoes are filled with germs and dirt that you don’t want to have in your home (The public bathroom is an enough example, I guess!).

This is why, as soon as you go home, take off your shoes and keep those nasty things in the front door. You can keep your clean, indoor slippers by the door in order to switch between them quickly.

#3 – Open the windows

If your windows are closed during the majority of the day, then the indoor air would be 5 times more polluted than outdoor air, even if you are living in a large industrialized city.

The best way to detoxify the indoor air is by opening your windows and to keep them that way for a few minutes. Early morning is the ideal time to purify the air of your home, and also before bed in order to breathe clean air when you are sleeping – Just be careful of the mosquitoes during summertime.

#4 – Less plastic

We don’t need to get into the whole story of the dangers of plastic and how it destroys our planet every day. Those things are filled with chemicals that leach into our entire surroundings, including the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, and more.

Some of these chemicals are suspected to be hormone-disrupting chemicals that can contribute to various health effects. Instead, you can use containers made of stainless steel and glass as much as possible. Plus, they will make your kitchen extra chic and gorgeous!
