We have a million everyday objects in our homes, and we know the purpose each one serves. But the truth is that even the most ordinary items can be used for some extraordinary things that you might have never considered. We bring you 10 creative uses for random objects that you will be able to apply to your routine. It can be the kind of fun trivia you’d like to share with your friends.

1. Use Pillowcases as Laundry Bags

If you want an easy and inexpensive way to separate your laundry on your hamper, you can simply use an old pillowcase. When you are doing the laundry, just put the pillowcase filled with clothes in the machine, and it will do the same job as a wash bag, which is basically protecting your clothes – you can toss your slips, your stockings, or your underwear in there to make sure you never lose another sock again. To make this process effective, you need to transform the pillowcase into a drawstring bag – leave a small space for a cord after opening the hem of the case, and then put a cord through the hem, and when the “bag” is filled, tie it.

2. Ice-Cube Tray Organizer

If you have more than one ice-cube tray and you don’t use it for ice, you can repurpose it. Take it into your garage and use it to organize your screws, or have one at your office and use it to store tiny paper clips or rubber bands. An ice-cube tray can be a great way to clean up the mess in your junk drawer – you can still store all the junk in there, but it will be a delightfully organized chaos.

3. Cookie Cutter Art

Cookie cutters can have many shapes, and some of them can help you create some funny shaped cookies. But if you have a small child at home, you can use cookie cutters to help them out with arts and crafts. Help them trace around the cookie cutter and motivate them to fill their drawings in fun and creative ways. This is an original way to keep them busy and to spark creativity.

4. Use a pillow to make a pet bed

Upcycling is the new trend and we are living for it. You can find old pillows at thrift shops or you can even use the ones you have at home. If you use your old pillow, then make your dog extra happy because they will enjoy your smell and feel extra comfortable. If you have a big dog, you can even repurpose an old sheet and create a giant pillowcase. Fill it with old pillows to have a king-size dog bed. If you have many pillows and no pets, contact your local dog shelter, they will certainly be able to find a use for it.

5. Use makeup brushes to clean your keyboard

Old makeup brushes can be quite useful as computer keyboard cleaners. You can use them to sweep the dust away very thoroughly, and then simply use a post-it note to pick up the small crumbs from the crevices. Your keyboard will look spotless in no time and typing will be easier if you don’t have crumbs beneath the keys.
