Apples are such magical fruits that can keep us away from the doctor and also keeping our potatoes from getting spoiled. Due to the ethylene gas, the apples can prevent sprouting on the potatoes.

So if you want to keep your potatoes fresh, eat an entire apple and leave only one slice, place it in the same bag as the potatoes, and then store it in a dark, dry place. You will be surprised when you see the effects of it.

It is important to put your wilted salad greens in an ice water bath before you decide to toss them. Just soak them and let them sit there for a little while.

When the greens are soaking, the water will *magically* rehydrates the cells of the leaves, and you will be able to see them firming back up. Once they are fully nourished again, you can remove them from the water and start preparing them for cooking.

Berries are some of our favorite foods to consume, but we tend to lose them easily. However, a little preparation can help them stay fresh for many other days. So before you store them, make sure to wash them in a mixture of three parts water and one part vinegar. The latter will act as a mold killer and natural disinfectant.

After that, make sure the berries are completely dry before placing them in an airtight container. The latter must be lined up with a paper towel to keep the moisture away from the fruits.

Butter up

Who doesn’t like cheese? I know, right! It is this generation’s biggest obsession and none of us has a problem with it. However, after slicing hard cheese, it will start drying out and crumble.

To avoid that, you should rub butter over the parts that were cut in order to help the cheese to get possession of its moisture. The next step is to place it in an airtight container or wrap it with a plastic wrap, then place it in the refrigerator.

If you are planning to store whole winter and summer squash, make sure to rub it with vegetable oil till it leaves a slight shine.

The oil will aid the mold spots from getting softened or spoiled. You will notice how the vegetable oil will help you stay fresh for a week, and even for months. Just store it in the pantry and don’t be worried about it at all. It feels nice to go back to the squash, finding it as fresh as the first day you have bought it.

The source of life is water, and without it, everything on earth would be nothing but dry dust, even human beings. So you have to always count it to keep your food as fresh and healthy as you need them to be.

Instead of putting carrots, radishes, and celery in the refrigerator, you will need to prepare them by cutting them into small pieces, store them in a water container, and then place them in the refrigerator. All of your food will stay fresh and crisp for the day, and even for weeks!
