Who doesn’t like having beautiful candles as home décor, or having a candle-light dinner with their significant other? Candles are quite a simple and elegant way to decorate your home, not to mention that you can find them in different shapes, sizes, scents, and a range of different prices. But sometimes, having a few clever candles hacks up your sleeve may come in handy. So, here are 5 tricks that can make your life as a candle lover quite easier.

1. Is Your Candle Too Big For Your Candle Holder?

If you are a fan of taper candles, you are well aware of the need to have candle containers to keep them in place. But because taper candles can vary in size, there is a chance they won’t fit into the candle holder without the help of a little hack. The first thing that comes to mind is probably the idea of melting candle wax to glue the candle to the base, but this can be dangerous and create a huge mess. Instead, you can fill a small container with hot water and submerge the candle’s bottom part. This will soften the wax, allowing you to mold it as you see fit. If this doesn’t seem to be working, you can always use a paring knife to carve the bottom of your candle, and then use a bit of wax adhesive to keep it steady and still.

2. Is Your Candle Too Small For Your Candle Containers?

Sometimes your candle holder can be too small for your candle, but sometimes it may be the other way around. Fortunately, having a candle that is too small for your candle container can easily be fixed. You just need to wrap a little bit of aluminum foil around the candle until you get the perfect fit.

3. How To Store Candles?

If you are one of those who buy more candles than they can use, you will have to find a way to store them. Yeah, you can throw them in a drawer and leave them there, but there is a chance they will break. So how can you store your candles and make sure they remain intact? The answer is in your kitchen – that is, if you like pringles. The cardboard cans in which Pringles come from are the ideal upcycled storage unit for your taper candles. Wrap them in tissue paper, put them inside the tube, and there you go. Easy, right?
