2. Your Floor Rugs

Your floor rugs are probably desperate for some outdoor airing, especially with all those feet and paws that keep tramping over them. So start by vacuuming the rugs thoroughly to eliminate all movable dirt and dust, then carry them outside to get some much-needed sunlight. And don’t forget to give them a good shake or even an old-fashioned beating before leaving them in the sun, especially if they still seem a little dirt-ridden. Keep in mind that a regular clothesline is not strong enough to hold something as heavy as floor rugs, so it’s better to consider other options, like stringing up a bungee cord between two trees or hand the rugs over a deck.

1. Your Houseplants

Besides furnishings, your houseplants can benefit a great deal from spending some time outdoors in the sun, especially after a long winter indoors. So be kind enough to show them some care and put them outside for fresh air. However, it’s important to take into consideration the nature of your plants plus the current temperature before taking your plants out. While various houseplants can handle the outside once the frost is no longer a risk, other greens need to go through the process gradually since any sudden temperature change can shock them. It’s best to open your windows every day for at least three days before putting your houseplants outside, starting with no more than 60 minutes out, then slowly increasing the time over the next few days. Also, make sure to leave the plants in the shade because bright and direct sunlight can harm them. And consider adjusting your watering routine as well as watching out for pests to keep your plants healthy. Tell us what items you already take outside to get some sunlight or which ones you’ll start taking out after reading this article. We’re always glad to read from you. Also, feel free to share this information with people you know.
