Dust will always find a way to get inside your house. It’s an absolute nightmare for those with allergies or respiratory diseases, and for the rest of us, it can be tiring and frustrating trying to clean a piece of furniture only for it to gain dust in a couple of days. Even though it’s nearly impossible to stop dust from getting inside your house, you can still prevent it from building up on your furniture. All it takes is to come up with a cleaning routine, and we’re here to help you with that! So, here are five ingredients that make the best dust cleaning products!

1. Baking Soda

Baking soda has been a secret cleaning ingredient for many years; it’s effective with clothing, jewelry, carpets, pans, ovens, dishwashers, and many other items. Baking soda works as a cleaning agent because of its mild alkali, which causes grease, dirt, and dust to dissolve effortlessly. It works great on dusty surfaces as well, especially metal ones. All you need is some water and ¼ of a cup with baking soda to make the magic happen. Always clean during daylight to see all the dust. This dust you see laying on furniture is not made of soil particles only. It also contains many germs like mites and dead skin cells, so it’s important to get rid of it as soon as possible to avoid respiratory problems and a couple of sneezes.

2. Vinegar and Olive Oil

Looking for natural dusting spray alternatives? Well, you already join these two ingredients in your salad, so why not do it for cleaning porpuses as well? Vinegar will cut through all the grime and grease present on the surface, while olive oil adds shine and protects the wood. This method is quite easy and cheap to make, all you need are ingredients that you probably already own, and if you don’t, they won’t cost you nearly as much as a normal unnatural cleaner would. So what do you need for this natural dusting spray? One cloth, hopefully, a microfiber one Two tablespoons or 20g of olive oil and 60ml of white vinegar 3g of lemon essential oil 430 ml of water A spray bottle Start with the olive oil and the lemon oil, mix these two, and once that’s done, add the white vinegar and the water to it. After you have a homogeneous smooth mixture, transfer the liquid onto the spray bottle. Then, all that there’s left to do is spray this solution all over the surfaces you wish to clean (metal, leather, glass, wood) and leave it there for 5 or 10 minutes. Wipe it clean with the microfiber cloth, and there you go! A dust-free and shiny piece of furniture looking brand-new!

3. Lemon Juice or vinegar

If you don’t enjoy mixing the ingredients above and feel scared about an intense nauseating smell on your furniture, how to get rid of dust is to use lemon juice. Even though vinegar has an antiseptic effect that helps remove pathogens and kill microorganisms that live in dust, it also can leave your house smelling like it. Sometimes the smell even penetrates to surfaces you clean, leaving the scent there permanently. That is why we advise you to mix these ingredients with oils. However, if the smell bothers you, you can opt for using lemon juice with a more pleasant smell than vinegar. Not only will your house smell amazing, but lemon is filled with antibacterial properties, and because if it’s low pH, it won’t damage your house. Make your natural lemon juice by squishing a few of them into a jar, and soak a cloth in it, use it to clean your surfaces!
