6. Copper

Another element that does not go well with Windex is copper. Therefore, if you have any copper artifact in the house or if you have any copper utensils, make sure that you do not clean them using Windex cleaner because you will cause some damage to them —cleaning copper is certainly not one of Windex uses. Make sure, therefore, that you find a Windex alternative if you want to keep your copper utensils and artifacts clean.

7. Car Windshields

You should also avoid using Windex on your car windshield. To keep your entire car clean, you need to make sure that you only use regular soap, which will give you great results! Cleaning car windows with Windex, or any other part of your car, is something that should be avoided. Make sure, therefore, that you heed this advice and that you do not overcomplicate things when it comes to cleaning your car.

8. Home Windows

Whether it is a Windex window washer or some other form of the same product, you need to make sure that you stay away from it when it comes to washing home windows. The best treatments that you can give your home windows is to give them a good scrub and wash using a sponge and some soap. You will get much better results using this than you would using a Windex outdoor window cleaner, for example!

9. Granite, Marble, and Wood

These are surfaces that you should keep Windex away from. If used on granite and marble, Windex has the ability to make the natural stone look dull, which betrays the whole purpose of having marble and granite in the first place. Similarly with wood, Windex tends to cause a lot of damage to it because of the high Windex ammonia levels. Therefore, when it comes to these surfaces, you must use a Windex alternative, one that will allow you to persevere the state of these surfaces. As you have seen, there are a lot of surfaces on which you should not use Windex. It is important to follow our advice and not clean your house in a way that is going to lead you to waste money trying to replace or fix things. Before you go, tell us in the comments below if you’ve ever cleaned one of the surfaces above using Windex.
