2. The Best Way to Clean Makeup Brushes at Home

Before you start, you’ll need a cup, clean towel, any cleanser you have at home, and a simple silicone makeup brush cleaning mat. Run each brush at a time under warm water while trying your best to keep the handle dry so you won’t risk the bristles loosening or falling out. Add a bit of the brush cleanser of your choice onto the cute cleaning mat and begin to swirl the wet bristles against the soapy silicone mat using gentle movements. Then, rinse the makeup off the brush and add more soap if necessary. Once your brush is clean, run it under running water for a few good seconds and squeeze water out of the brush using a towel. Finally, put the brushes in a cup (bristles up) and allow them to air dry. Don’t forget your eye makeup brushes! Although small, they need regular cleaning too.

1. This is How Often You Need to Wash Your Makeup Brushes

You need to clean your makeup brushes following the steps we mentioned on the previous slide every two weeks. As for sponges or brushes you use to apply foundation, concealer, or other liquid makeup, they need to be washed once a week to prevent product accumulation. It’s important to remember that makeup brushes can’t last forever, so pay attention to the signs that it’s time to get new ones. These include lingering smells, discoloration, and shedding. By washing your brushes or buying new ones, you’re protecting your skin. Please feel free to leave a comment or share this article with other women in your life.
