How To Disinfect Every Room In Your House!

Last Updated on May 13, 2020

Be sure to properly sanitize every single one of the prementioned surfaces at least once a week, using a disinfecting solution and a soft cloth, or disinfecting wipes. If anyone is sick, or if you have just welcomed guests into your home, do it more often.

6. Take Care Of Your Office Space

Germs enjoy your office – the keyboard, the telephone, and even the desktop are fruitful nests for all sorts of nasty germs and bacteria. You should be even more worried if you are the type of person who enjoys eating in front of the computer, or if you are sharing your equipment with someone else. Use a vacuum to catch the debris that hides under your keyboard, and finish the cleaning process with a disinfecting wipe. If you are too lazy to do this often, get a cover for your keyboard, but keep in mind, you will have to wash it too. As for your computer screen and your phone, use a soft microfiber cloth, dampen it, and gently clean the surfaces.

7. Disinfect The Rooms Where Your Kids Play

Because kids are not as conscious of the risks of germs, they are highly likely to carry a higher number of germs inside. Clean their toys and use a surface sanitizer to disinfect all the hard surfaces in your kid’s playroom. If you have a baby, the area where you change their diaper needs to be cleaned often and thoroughly.

8. Don’t Forget About Your Kitchen Sink

What do you think is the germiest place around your home? Your brain is probably telling you “the bathroom,” but your brain is wrong. Your kitchen sponge is, actually, the germiest place in your home, but your kitchen sink is a close second. All the bacteria from the different foods you eat ends up in your sink, so you should use a strong disinfecting product, like chlorine bleach, and scrub it every day. As for the sponge, clean it with just water after every use and throw it into the microwave every day for two minutes – this process will eliminate the bacteria E Coli and salmonella.

9. How To Disinfect Your Kitchen

As for the rest of your kitchen, you will need to think about everything – how to disinfect kitchen tools, your kitchen gadgets, your kitchen appliances, and, of course, every single surface. The surfaces you use to prepare food should be cleaned every single time you use them – use water and soap to get rid of all the dirtiness you can see, and then top it with a little bit of bleach to get rid of invisible bugs. Do not put regular use items in your kitchen tops (like your cellphone, for example). Disinfect your kitchen tools and gadgets and make sure they are fully dry before putting them away. As for appliances, if you have a dishwasher, be sure to let it dry by opening the door after you use it and wash your refrigerator once a month. If anything spills, be sure to clean right away, and for deeper cleaning, use vinegar and warm water – this will disinfect the fridge and neutralize unpleasant odors.

10. Learn How To Disinfect Your Bathroom

You can make your DIY bathroom cleaner by adding two tablespoons of ammonia and another two of dish liquid to a quarter of lukewarm water. This can be used for everything – from your tub to your toilet, to even your bathroom floors. Be sure to clean your toilet brush and to let it air dry because a moisty toilet brush is an authentic paradise for germs. Disinfect your toilet seat and always close the lid after you use the toilet because flushing will spread a lot of fecal matter throughout your bathroom, which will invisibly get attached to everything – even your toothbrush. If you use bleach for a finishing touch, be sure to wear rubber gloves to protect your skin.
