4. Activate the defroster

If your car is equipped with a defogger/defroster, then you’re very lucky! You can just turn the defroster on if the weather is snowy or foggy outside. Make sure to wipe your shoes from frost/snow to reduce humidity inside your car. Also, double-check if you’re not sure you have that feature because sometimes people are surprised to know that their cars have a defroster when they discover it!

5. Use Ammonia-based window cleaner

Ammonia-based cleaners can quickly remove buildup in your windshield, so use them generously to clean the interior windshield with the help of vertical or horizontal strokes. Make sure to re-apply the cleaner regularly and keep your windshield clear to avoid distracted driving and prevent accidents.

6. Apply shaving cream to the interior windshield

While this might sound weird to you, it works! Apply shaving cream to your windshield’s interior and use a clean towel to wipe it to remove the cream. It will create a protective film that will prevent fogging and you won’t have to deal with a foggy windshield.

7. Open the windows

If nothing works, or if you have a vintage car that is not equipped with a defogger, defroster, or AC, you can simply open the windows and let fresh air in to reduce the fogginess. This simple method may not be as effective as the others, especially if the humidity is high outside. Those are the seven ways to clear a foggy windshield and drive safer. Try them out, and let us know which one worked best!
